"Truly, anyone who hears my words and believes in the One who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has passed from death to life." (John 5:24)"
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. But those who refuse to believe—the wrath of God remains on them." (John 3:16, John 3:36)
God’s love is unconditional, unearned, unmerited, and undeserved. It is freely given to all who believe in the Son, whom He sent as the atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world.
As Jesus, our Lord and Savior, said: "Anyone who believes has eternal life." (John 6:47) All who believe and receive Him into their hearts have the right to become children of God, rescued from the devil’s grasp for the praise of God’s glory. (John 1:12, Colossians 1:13)
Our faith in Christ means we are not relying on our own flawed works of righteousness or holiness for the salvation of our souls. As long as we live in these earthly bodies, we will sin—either knowingly or unknowingly. But all our sins—past, present, and future—are forgiven because of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. He defeated the enemy, and His blood cleanses us from all sin. (Ephesians 2:8-9, 1 John 1:7)
Once we believe in Christ, we may still sin, as we have inherited a sinful nature from the first man, Adam. However, God knows our weaknesses, and He is gracious and merciful. All He asks is that we confess our sins, and He, being just and faithful, will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, Psalm 103:8)
As it is written: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." (Romans 3:23-24)
We give thanks and praise to the Father of heavenly lights for His unfailing love and unending mercy in giving us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of our Lord from the dead. (1 Peter 1:3, James 1:17)
