As Christians , we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. Christ our lord asked whether there would be any faith in the world when he comes back. He emphaised the important of our faith by these two verse. My Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life” John 6.40; and “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life” John 6. 47
What does it mean that we should have faith ? Faith means being certain in what you hope for and believing in things not seen.
The whole foundation of our faith rest on God's word in John 3.16 -17 that God so loved the world that he gave up his one and only son, that whosoever believe in him, shall not perish but shall have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through their faith in Him as their Lord and Savior.
We are saved because we believe in the son Of God whom he sent to us from heaven as bread of life which, whoever eats receives new life in Christ. faith is one of the spiritual fruits we recieve when we put our faith in christ as our lord.
We need spiritual food which Christ who is alive in us, and provides for us as opposes to physical food which we mostly crave. Christ is the spiritual food which we as children of God should eat and drink each day as we walk in faith on this earthly journey towards eternal life.
