As redeemed children of God, we should detest the vile and evil deeds of the ungodly—unrepentant sinners who persist in rebellion against His fair and just rules, yet claim to know Him. However, their actions reveal their true nature, for "by their fruits, you will recognize them. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit" (Matthew 7:16-18).
As it is written: "There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community" (Proverbs 6:16-19).
God is love, and He is patient toward the children of men, for He does not want anyone He created to perish, but rather that all should come to the knowledge of the truth, repent, and make Him their refuge, finding peace in their hearts. "Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?" (Ezekiel 18:23).
As it is written: "In repentance and rest is your salvation; in quietness and trust is your strength" (Isaiah 30:15).
