Unforgiveness and anger in one’s heart lead to sin. Always be quick to forgive and move on. Forgiving an offense is to one’s honor (Proverbs 19:11). Be merciful and gracious toward those who wrong you. Resist the temptation to seek revenge or repay evil with evil, for the Lord says, "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord." (Romans 12:19).
Remember that "anger rests in the lap of fools" (Ecclesiastes 7:9), and "a fool shows his annoyance at once, but a prudent person overlooks an insult" (Proverbs 12:16). Avoid strife, even when provoked. Let it go, knowing that God is pleased when we walk in obedience.
As it is written: "Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing." (1 Peter 3:9).
Anger, rage, unforgiveness, slander, and sexual immorality do not come from God but from the evil one. "Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, and slander, along with every form of malice." (Ephesians 4:31). Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit rather than wine (Ephesians 5:18) and grow in the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
As it is written: "Apart from me, you can do nothing. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you will bear much fruit." (John 15:5,7). This is the Father's will—that you bear good fruit for His Kingdom (John 15:8).
"Therefore, as God’s dearly loved children, let us sow seeds of righteousness so that we may reap a harvest of His unfailing love, for it is time to seek the Lord." (Hosea 10:12)
