The flesh, with its sinful desires and passions, is nothing as children of God who believe in Jesus, our desires and passions have been crucified with him on the cross so that we no longer gratify evil desires and passions of our sinful nature but we have been given sufficient grace to say no to evil desires and passions of the flesh.
We know that the flesh is nothing, and all who live by the flesh reap shame and death, but those who sow to the Spirit reap life and peace (Galatians 6:8).
As Paul wrote, all of us who have faith in the son of God once lived like disobedient and rebellious people, gratifying every evil desire and passion (Ephesians 2:1-3). But now, those who believe in Christ should no longer live like unbelievers but should be led by the spirit of God in us to live a life that is pleasing to God and honors God.
As the Word says, all our sinful desires, passions, and feelings have been crucified with Christ on the cross (Galatians 5:24). Therefore, we no longer live by the flesh but are led by the Spirit of God, who is alive and active within us, able to do far more than we could ever imagine or expect (Ephesians 3:20).
Our bodies are now the temple of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of truth, who is our helper and intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express before the throne of our Father of heavenly light (Romans 8:26-27).
As the Word says, "God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24). So, from now on, let us rid ourselves of our old clothes of sinful desires, passions, and put on our new clothes of righteousness and holiness, as the holy spirit workest in us as we are being renewed daily and conformed to the image of Christ (Colossians 3:9-10).
This is the process of becoming Christ-like until He comes again in His Father’s glory, His glory, and the glory of the armies of the Kingdom of God to take us to our heavenly home in heaven (Matthew 16:27; Revelation 19:14).
