We are mere mortals, fleeting as a breath, less than nothing before the mighty throne of God's grace and mercy. Though we are little less than angels, He crowns us with His love and mercy.

From the moment of our birth, we emerge from our mother's womb, conceived in sin. As Psalm 51:5 says, 'Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.'  God's spirit has been within us from birth, yet the beast within us,  from youth, sometimes can be unruly, undisciplined, and rebellious against God's fair and righteous commands.

There have been moments when I've felt like a beast, but even then, you walk by my right-hand side, holding my hand, sustaining me when I'm weary and overwhelmed. Just as Psalm 23:3 assures, 'He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name's sake.' Bringing peace and calm within.

The beast within must be tamed to prevent it from bringing ruin, shame, and destruction to oneself and others. Only Christ can tame the beast within, for He resides in all who believe, trust, obey, and stand firmly on His words. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, 'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.'"
