Jesus Christ is the King of glory, our Lord and Saviour, who does not judge or condemn us when we sin or do wrong. He understands our weaknesses, for He Himself was tested and faced temptations while in the flesh (Hebrews 4:15).
Jesus Christ empathizes with all our weaknesses and has only love and compassion for us as sinners. All He requires from us when we sin is to confess and repent, for He is a just and fair God who will forgive us and cleanse our hearts of unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
As it is written, “Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded” (James 4:8). For we are all sinners before God’s throne of grace; we all fall short of His glory, His perfect standard for mankind (Romans 3:23). He calls us to come to Him with purity in our hearts, with humble and contrite spirits, to take up our cross daily and follow Him and learn from Him, for He is “humble and gentle in heart” (Matthew 11:29). We can come to Him as we are, for He loves us unconditionally and fully accepts us.
He has forgiven us our sins and given us the Holy Spirit to help us in all our weaknesses. For when we are weak, He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). The Holy Spirit empowers us in our weaknesses so that His power is displayed powerfully in our vulnerability. In ourselves, we are weak, but through the power of Christ in us, we can be strong, for we can do all things through Him who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).
We praise our Heavenly Father that, in His infinite mercy, He sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins so that we may live our lives through Him who loves us and died for the redemption of our souls (1 John 4:10).
We give thanks to our Lord and Saviour who loves us and, when we fall, helps us to get back up, holds our hands, heals our pains, makes us whole again, puts a smile on our faces, and protects us with His rod and staff as we walk through the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4).
He surrounds us with His presence every day like a shield, pouring down on us His boundless grace and unending mercy as we take small steps with Him as our warrior at our right hand (Psalm 16:8), holding us through this dark and sinful world.
