Our Only Helper in Heaven
"Though my heart and flesh may fail, You are my portion and strength, now and forever."
Do not put your trust in mortals or princes. When we are overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure of what to do, put your trust in God—the Sovereign Lord over heaven and earth, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is an ever-present helper at your right hand.
Though the journey may be long, be still, for the Lord is by your side. You have a heavenly Helper within you to guide, teach, protect, sustain, empower you, and help you walk in obedience to Christ. Walk in God’s ways rather than the empty ways of the world, which continues in disobedience, not realizing the futility of rebelling against God’s fair and righteous commands.
The joy of the Lord is our strength as God’s chosen children, rescued from the power of darkness and brought into His kingdom of light for the praise of His glory.
We pray to the Lord God Almighty, who gives beauty for ashes, replaces the garment of grief with the oil of joy, and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. So, let us as believers rejoice today in the day that the Lord has made! This is the day when the stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. The Lord has done this, and it is marvellous in our eyes. Today we rejoice and are glad because this is the day that the Lord has made!
