We have joy in the midst of sorrow, are poor yet enrich others, and possess nothing yet have everything. Such is the paradox of life. Those who think they are wise often lack understanding, while those who are wise by God’s standards are considered foolish by the world.

The message of the cross is foolishness to the world, but to those who believe, it is the power of God, saving all who have faith (1 Corinthians 1:18). When we believe in God, Christ, and His words of truth, we are neither foolish nor insane. Instead, what we believe is both true and reasonable.

As Paul said: "I am not insane, most excellent Festus. What I am saying is true and reasonable" (Acts 26:25). He continued to King Agrippa: "King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know you do" (Acts 26:27).

Jesus Christ is Lord—today, the same yesterday, and forevermore. He is the One who is, who was, and who is to come. He will return, not to bear sins a second time, but to take all who believe in Him to their heavenly home, which has been prepared for them (Hebrews 13:8; Revelation 1:8; John 14:2-3).

The message of God's reconciliation of the world to Himself, by putting aside the sins of the world, continues to be preached to the ends of the earth. All who spread the message of God's gift of eternal life through faith in His Son are Christ's ambassadors, through whom God is writing His gospel of reconciliation to the world. Yet, many still do not believe (2 Corinthians 5:18-20; 1 John 4:10).

We pray that all men and women live quiet, peaceful lives in reverence and submissive wonder to God, coming to the knowledge of His truth and being set free from the bondage of sin through faith in Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:1-4; John 8:32-36).
