Flesh is nothing. The passions and desires of the flesh have been crucified on the cross with our Lord Jesus Christ. As Apostle Paul declared:
“I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (Galatians 2:20)
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. While the flesh seeks the temporary things of this earth, the spirit longs for eternal treasures in heaven. The flesh and spirit will war against each other until we leave this earthly life. Yet, as children of God, our bodies have been crucified with Christ, freeing us from slavery to sinful desires. Christ lives in us through the Spirit, empowering us to walk in His light.
The Holy Spirit, our Helper, strengthens our inner being so we are no longer captives to the passions of the flesh. As it is written:
“Whoever follows Christ will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
Through the Holy Spirit, believers are fortified, made obedient to Christ, and cleansed daily by His blood. Therefore, let us stand firm in faith on every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Let us humble ourselves before His throne of grace, resist the devil, and trust in the Lord with patience and unwavering faith as we await the glorious return of Christ.
The flesh is fleeting, but Christ lives in us, enabling us to walk each day in His light and grace. Let us set our hearts and minds on things above, not on earthly things that will pass away. As Scripture reminds us:
“Everything that can be shaken will be shaken until only what cannot be shaken remains.” (Hebrews 12:27)
May we live daily in the power of the Holy Spirit, reflecting Christ in all we do, as we look forward to the eternal kingdom that will never fade.
