We desire to know nothing except Christ crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2). We do not preach the message of Christ with human wisdom, for God has shown human wisdom to be foolishness (1 Corinthians 1:20). To those who are spiritually mature, God’s Spirit reveals the deep things of God through words given by the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:10-13).
We have the mind of Christ within us (1 Corinthians 2:16). Christ is the wisdom and power of God, and the cross is the power and wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24). Therefore, we do not preach the message of God with human wisdom or eloquence, but through the Spirit, so that the power of God is demonstrated. In this way, the faith of those who hear is not based on human wisdom, but on the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:4-5).
We who put our faith in Christ have been blessed with spiritual gifts, for it is written:
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9, referencing Isaiah 64:4).
We pray that, as servants of God, we may go into the world like a breath of fresh air, free from the corruption in this sinful fallen world , caused by human sinfulness (2 Peter 1:4). May we give the world a glimpse of good living and of the living God as we carry His message into the darkness, shining like stars in the night (Philippians 2:15).
