"Christ was tempted but did not sin. He resisted the devil to the point of shedding His blood on the cross. This should be a great comfort and encouragement to the saints of God, saved by grace. Our Lord and Savior can empathize with our weaknesses. A common mistake young believers make is thinking that being tempted is the same as sinning. There is no sin in being tempted, as our Savior Himself was tempted, but He resisted the devil, and the devil fled from Him (James 4:7).

In the same way, let us imitate our Lord and Savior by submitting to God and living our earthly lives in Him, who lives in us. Through His power and strength at work in us, we can resist the devil so that he will flee from us. Being tempted by the tempter is a normal occurrence for all who believe. We only sin when we do not resist the temptation but give in to it.

Whatever drives us into the loving hands of our Heavenly Father is good for us, reminding us that we are nothing apart from Him. It is only by being steadfast in heart, with our eyes focused on Him, who has led the way along the bloodstained road and is our rearguard, that we can have victory over the tempter of the saints of God. As it is written, 'All believers go through the same temptations' (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We should not find it strange that we are tempted in a world corrupted by sin and greed. Rather, when we are tempted, just as the family of believers is, we must submit to God, and resist the devil and he will flee from us as God provides a way out for us when we are tempted by the devil  so that we can bear and not give in to temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).

We should rejoice when our faith is tested because we know that testing of our faith produces perseverance. Perseverance builds up strong character in us, enabling us to endure trials, troubles, and afflictions: leading to us having a living hope, and stronger faith, as God pours his love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit He has given us (Romans 5:3-5)."
