It's an awesome thought that the Creator of heavens and earth watches over us each day with gladness to do good to us. The word states, 'My plans for you are for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope' (Jeremiah 29:11).

We do not rejoice over ourselves because we see our sins and transgressions clearly if we are truthful to ourselves; our sins are more than the number of hairs on our heads. Despite our best efforts, our hearts are deceitful beyond all measures, and we fall short of God’s perfect standard. We cannot rejoice in others because we see their imperfections and flaws.

We know our sinfulness before God. We all fall short of God’s perfect standard. We all fall short of the grace of God, which is the reason God sent His Son into the world; so we can live our lives through Him (Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8).

We must pray daily for God’s grace and forgiveness for our hidden errors that we cannot discern. As it is written, 'Who can discern their errors? Forgive us all our hidden faults' (Psalm 19:12).

We pray that willful, deliberate sins do not overwhelm or rule over us. We thank God that the blood of Jesus, our Savior, washes us clean of all past, present, and future sins. We must daily come to God’s throne of grace for the blood of Christ to cleanse our hearts; that God gives us a steadfast heart in place of our divided hearts that vacillate between doubts, unbelief, and faith (1 John 1:9, Psalm 51:2, Psalm 86:11).

We thank God for His unfailing love, fresh mercy each day, and His great faithfulness towards the sons of men. God created the universe and said it was good; He does not rejoice over angels but in the sons of men whom He sent His Son to die for their sins (Genesis 1:31, Luke 19:10).

He rejoices over us as He sees us as clean and unblemished in His sight: covered by the blood of the Lamb (Revelation 7:14).

We praise God for His unbounded grace upon us; we come before His throne of grace and mercy with a grateful heart that we are His chosen children who have placed their trust and faith in His Son. He no longer rebukes us but, like a mighty warrior at our side, He fights all our spiritual battles as He rejoices with gladness over us and quiets us with His love, singing joyfully over us (Zephaniah 3:17)."
