"I will rejoice over them to do them good" - Jeremiah 32:41

What an awe-inspiring thought it is that the Creator of heaven and earth watches over us each day with gladness, intending to do good for us. The Word states, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and hope" (Jeremiah 29:11).

We cannot rejoice in ourselves because we see our sins and transgressions. If we are truthful with ourselves, our sins outnumber the hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7). Despite our best efforts, our hearts are deceitful beyond all measure. We fall short of God's perfect standard (Jeremiah 17:9). We cannot rejoice in others because we see their imperfections and flaws clearly (Matthew 7:3).

We must pray daily for God's grace and forgiveness for our hidden errors that we cannot discern (Psalm 19:12). We should guard against willful and deliberate sins that could overwhelm and overrule us (Psalm 19:13). We thank God that the blood of Jesus, our Savior, washes us clean of all past, present, and future sins (1 John 1:7). We must daily come before God's throne of grace to cleanse our hearts and unite our divided hearts that waver between doubts, unbelief, and faith (Hebrews 4:16).

We thank God for His unfailing love, fresh mercy each day, and great faithfulness towards the sons of men (Lamentations 3:22-23). God created the universe and declared it good (Genesis 1:31). He does not rejoice over angels but rejoices over the sons of men; He rejoices over us as since he sees us,  as clean and unblemished in his sight, covered by the blood of his son (Revelation 7:14).

We praise God for His unbounded grace upon us. We come before His throne of grace and mercy with a grateful heart, knowing that we are his chosen children saved by grace.

God no longer rebukes us (John 5:24). Instead, like a mighty warrior at our side, He rejoices with gladness over us, quiets us with His love, and sings joyfully over us (Zephaniah 3:17).
