My soul feels anchored to the dust. Revive my soul with your Word. Your Word is my light, my life. The unfolding of your Word brings understanding and discernment (Psalm 119:130). Your Word makes me clean (John 15:3). Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path as I walk through the valley of trouble in this sullen, polluted world (Psalm 119:105). Revive my soul with your Word. Strengthen my feeble heart with your Word; give light to my eyes with your Word (Psalm 119:28). Let your Word help me see what you want me to see, hear what you want me to hear, and understand. With the power of the Holy Spirit, help me walk in the path of your will. Help me discern your Word and consume it as my spiritual food (Jeremiah 15:16). Let it taste sweeter than honey.
Help my heart value your Word more than all the riches of this world. Your Word is right and true; you are faithful in all you do, Lord (Psalm 33:4). You love righteousness and justice. All the earth is filled with your unfailing love (Psalm 33:5). Help us, believers, go into the world uncorrupted, like a breath of fresh air in this sullen and polluted world, carrying your light-giving message into the night (Matthew 5:14-16). Hallelujah. Amen
