He who would receive anything from God must have a steadfast heart and a willing spirit, for the man who has a divided heart cannot hope to receive anything from the Lord. For that man is like a wave that goes here and there, unstable in all his ways" (James 1:6-8).
Are we willing and ready to submit to God and obey His commands so that all can go well with us? If we are not willing to obey and do His will, why are we not willing? Jesus says that all who belong to Him know His voice and would follow Him, for all He has said to us is plain and easy to understand. If we do not understand, we should ask ourselves why we do not understand (John 10:27)."
Help us, Lord God Almighty, to hear what the Spirit is saying to us. We thank You that You have given us Your Holy Spirit to speak the truth to us, believers in Christ. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts to hear and understand and come to the knowledge of You as we meditate and put into action Your word of eternal truth" (John 14:26; Ephesians 1:17-18)."
Give us an undivided heart, a steadfast heart, and an obedient spirit that is willing to submit to You and let Your Spirit guide us along the unfamiliar paths that we have not walked. Almighty God, a mighty warrior at our right side, who no longer rebukes us as your dearly loved redeemed children, but quiets us with Your love and rejoices over us with singing as You lead us in Your way everlasting; guiding, directing, and counseling us with Your loving eyes upon us" (Psalm 32:8; Zephaniah 3:17).
