Without faith, it is impossible to please God, for those who come to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him by faith (Hebrews 11:6).The salvation of our souls is by faith, and by faith alone—not by merits or works of the law. We are saved by the grace of God, so that no one can boast before Him (Ephesians 2:8-9).
As it is written: "He was pierced for our transgressions; He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds, we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5).As it is written, Abraham, the father of faith, believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness (Genesis 15:6).
Abraham trusted God and obeyed Him when he was told to leave his family and everything he was familiar with to go to a land God promised to give to his descendants (Genesis 12:1-3). Abraham did not know where he was going but trusted in God’s promises and obeyed.
When Abraham was tested, he believed God and did not waver through doubt or unbelief regarding the promise that through his seed, Isaac, all nations of the world would be blessed. He was prepared to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command, believing that God could raise the dead to life. He trusted in God as the promise-keeper and covenant-keeping God (Genesis 22:1-18; Romans 4:20-21; Hebrews 11:17-19).
We, as believers in Christ, have also been given the command by the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ to believe in the Son He sent as an atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world (1 John 4:10). As it is written: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9-10).
We are saved by the grace of God and credited with righteousness that comes from heaven—from the throne of God’s grace and mercy—so that no one can boast before Him (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:21-24).
We pray that we, as believers, do not waver through doubt or unbelief but instead believe in God, surrender to the power of His Holy Spirit within us, and walk each day in faith. May we put our trust and confidence in the finished work of our Savior on the cross and live in obedience to Christ, our Lord, who is alive in us as children of God. We have been rescued from the power of darkness and brought into the kingdom of light for the praise of God’s glory (Colossians 1:13-14; Galatians 2:20).
