Help us, Lord to grab hold of hope with both hands and never let go. In Christ Jesus, who is alive in us, we have an imperishable hope. As Paul described, hope is the unbreakable spiritual timeline that reaches beyond appearances and the delusions of Satan to the very presence of God in heaven. Help us to keep hope alive, no matter how impossible the situations or circumstances we face in life each day.
Hope is believing that God is good and he always has our best interests at heart. He works all things together for our good according to His greater will and purpose for our lives (Romans 8:28). Just as Jeremiah looked back over his life, seeing his many failures and mistakes, he was heartbroken over his sins. Yet, at the same time, he was filled with hope and joy because, step by step, God poured out His grace upon him. This grace gave him a hope that can never perish.
In Jesus Christ, who lives in us, we have a living hope. Let us embrace Him, hold tightly to His presence in us, and walk in His light. He not only gives us His unconditional love and the free gift of salvation, grace, and mercy, but He is also our portion and strength (Lamentations 3:24). Taste and see that the Lord is good; happy is the one who takes refuge in Him (Psalm 34:8).
Keep hope alive, for “hope does not disappoint us, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” (Romans 5:5). No matter how challenging or impossible things may seem—whether we are in a stressful marriage, facing financial difficulties, dealing with family problems, struggling with health issues, or worrying about grades as children face exams—we have the God of hope as our fortress and refuge in whom we can put our complete trust. He will never abandon or forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:6). Together, as believers in Christ, we wait in hope because we have an inheritance in heaven that can never perish or faze away.
We persevere through all our troubles, tribulations, and afflictions, knowing that “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all” (Psalm 34:19). God is faithful and true to all His promises. We can trust Him above all else, for our hope in Him will not disappoint us.
Those who put their trust in God will never be put to shame (Psalm 25:3).Hope is not merely a feeling or wishful thinking. Hope is a divine force that helps us persevere and endure, trusting in God above all others.
